It’s hard to believe that 14 years have passed since The Notorious B.I.G. was gunned down in Los Angeles. A few months after Big’s death, his friend and label head, Puff Daddy, as he was then known, released a tribute called “I’ll Be Missing You.”

The song featured Biggie’s wife Faith Evans and labelmates 112 lamenting the loss of their loved one over a sample of The Police’s “Every Breath You Take.”
“I’ll Be Missing You” was an instant success, debuting at number one on Billboard’s pop charts.
