Gladys Knight Cast As President's Mother In New TV Series

The bump in notoriety celebrities see when they battle it out on Dancing With The Stars is real. Gladys Knight can vouch for that. She has been cast in a top secret scripted series about the President of the United States juggling family life and running the free world.Titled The First Family, Knight was cast as the President’s mother.

According to reports from TMZ, producers of the show are working extremely hard with Gladys Knight to make sure she can handle pulling double duty as a cast member and a contestant on Dancing With The Stars. Producers of the sitcom are very flexible with Knight’s shooting schedule because of her dance rehearsals. The First Family is being shopped to different networks and is looking to capitalize on Knight’s Dancing With The Stars momentum.
