PETA Responds To Kanye West’s Fur Lyric
Leave it Kanye West to stir up beef with a song that hasn’t been available for a full 24 hours. One of the lyrics in Kanye’s latest song, “Theraflu,” says, “Tell PETA my mink is draggin’ on the floor.” Naturally, the temperamental activist group immediately fired back at the rapper with an incendiary statement. PETA’s Senior Vice President Dan Matthews spoke to XXLMag.com:
“What’s draggin’ on the floor is Kanye’s reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings. He’s a great musician but doesn’t seem to have the fashion sense to design anything more than caveman costumes. We keep hoping that one day he’ll find his heart and join evolved style icons—including Russell Simmons, Pink, and Natalie Portman—who have dropped animal skins.”
This isn’t the first time Kanye West has sparred with PETA and Dan Matthews. Matthews called Kanye an idiot after he and then-girlfriend Amber Rose were spotted donning floor length fur coats while attending Paris Fashion Week. Dan Matthews told Britain’s Daily Mail, “Kanye can’t help making himself look like an idiot, whether at an awards show or a fashion show. He and his girlfriend look like pathetic creatures from a shabby roadside zoo.”
We’ll see how long before Kanye disses them in another song.
