Nas’ Tour Money Being Garnished To Settle Tax Debt
There are a number of people in Nas‘ life who are hoping his current tour with Lauryn Hill rakes in the big bucks. One of those people is the Georgia Department of Revenue. They have just filed legal documents to have Nas’ tour money garnished to settle his tax debt.
The Georgia Department of Revenue is trying to collect on Nas’ $1,083,435 tax debt. In order to do so they filed court papers to have his concert tour wages garnished. They claim Nas owes that amount because he failed to pay taxes in the years of 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010. The Department of Revenue has demanded Live Nation, the company sponsoring the tour, begin holding his checks until his debt is wiped out. Once Nas pays off his state taxes, he still has to deal with federal taxes he’s delinquent on.
