There are a few more people taking aim at the throne. Jay Z and his Rocawear clothing brand are being sued for stealing the phrase “Hood Love” and putting it on a line of t-shirts.
Hood Love LLC is a for-profit company whose mission is to improve the lives of poverty stricken youth and communities. The company filed a suit against ROC Apparel Group earlier this month over a shirt that has the phrase “Hood Love” emblazoned across the front in huge letters. Hood Love LLC says they’ve owned the trademark since 2006 and Rocawear has been confusing the public and making money off the shirts.
Hood Love LLC is suing for an unspecified amount of damages and is demanding the shirts be pulled from stores.
