Apple Reveals iOS7, iPhone 5C And iPhone 5S Features

The new iOS7, iPhone 5C and 5S are finally here. They have tons of new features for the new 5S and 5C. The 5S has a silver, gold and “space gray.” (There’s no more “black” iPhone, though the gray one has a black face.) The new iOS 7 will be available to download for free on September 18 for qualifying iPhones, iPods and also iPads. The iPhone 5C Will be cheaper and have more colors to the interface.

New controls, notification center. Device actually learns where and when you commute. Computes commute with current traffic conditions. Some apps need to update themselves — but I’ve seen more and more apps issue iOS 7 compatibility updates in the last week.

Its reported to be cheaper and you can select more color to have your phone more customized. Its priced at iPhone 5C comes in 5 colors, starts at $99 for the 16GB on  a two-year contract.

iPhone 5S

“This is iPhone 5S. It’s made of a high-grade aluminum, with diamond-cut, chamfered edges.” Yes, just like the iPhone 5.

It will enable a “whole new level” of fitness apps. The CoreMotion API in iOS 7 will be updated to characterize data, to let devs know whether you’re walking, driving, etc.

The pixels are 1.5u in size to capture more light.

“It used to be the way you took better pictures was you learned to take better pictures.” He’s showing all the gear you’d have to buy and training you’d need. “For the people who want to do this, that’s great. But for most of us, we just want to take a better picture.”

“Whatever color your flash is it’s going to clash with the color of the room and give you a color that doesn’t look right.” The flash is a dual-element, cool and amber. It offers 1,000 possible color temperatures!

“The most common way forces us to set up a pass-code… This is something you do dozens of times a day, to unlock and get access to your phone. Unfortunately, some people find that’s too cumbersome and they don’t set it up.”

It’s called the Touch ID sensor. It’s capacitive, 170 microns thin. 500ppi resolution, which is quite impressive. It can scan in 360 degrees, so you don’t have to have the orientation right, and it can learn multiple fingers.

4-inch display, like the iPhone 5. A6 chip inside, “blazing-fast performance.” The battery is larger than in the iPhone 5, which is nice. It boasts an 8-megapixel iSight camera, with the five-element lens and IR filter as seen on the 5.

“Inside it’s built with a new construction method that uses a steel reinforced structure that provides incredible rigidity.” It forms the antenna, too.

It also supports “more LTE bands than any other smartphone in the world.” 100Mbps download. Dual-band Wi-Fi, too. Could this be a single phone for Apple worldwide?
