Opening Date Given To Broadway Musical Inspired By Tupac
According to AllHipHop.com The musical based on the music of one Mr. Tupac Shakur has been given an official opening date on Broadway. Kenny Leon’s musical Holler If Ya Hear Me will begin previewing at New York City’s Palace Theatre on May 26th, and the official opening is scheduled for June 19th .
The show was written by Todd Kreidler and the plot of the musical will center around two childhood friends’ and their trials and tribulations in trying to make it in the inner-city. While it is not about 2Pac’s life his music and lyrics serve as inspiration for the production. So then it makes sense that it is produced by Pac’s mother Afeni Shakur as well as Eric L. Gold, Chun-soo Shin and Jessica Green. It has been choreographed by Wayne Cilento.
No word on who has been cast for the show yet.
