Angela Bassett To Make Directorial Debut With Whitney Houston Biopic
Actress Angela Bassett is moving her career in another direction. The “Betty & Coretta” star has been chosen to direct a film based on the life of the late pop legend Whitney Houston.
The Lifetime film will serve as Bassett’s first foray into film directing. Currently the working title is “Whitney Houston” and will focus on Houston’s turbulent relationship with R&B singer Bobby Brown. No further about the film, such as the cast and production dates, haven’t been announced as of yet. However, we do the biopic will air sometime in 2015.

Angela Bassett and Whitney Houston famously starred in the hit 1995 film “Waiting to Exhale,” which was based on Terry McMillian‘s best-selling novel. A sequel was planned, but due to Houston’s passing, plans have been halted.
