'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Final Trailer Is Upon Us
The Final ‘TMNT’ Trailer Has Me Cautiously Optimistic
This new ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ movie has seen its fair share of controversy, from complaints about their new noses to casting choices (Johnny Knoxville as Leonardo…?) to general disapproval of producer Michael Bay‘s involvement. The third and final trailer for this second reboot of the franchise directed by Jonathan Liebsman gives me hope that at the very least it’ll be cool to watch.
A lot of effort has seemingly been put into making each of the four turtles Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michaelangelo visually distinctive asides from their different colored face masks, which is a nice touch. The rest of the cast, including Megan Fox as the new April O’Neil, William Fichtner as the new (and whitewashed) Shredder, and the newly revealed Whoopi Goldberg as April’s boss Bernadette Thompson, look ready to collect their paychecks, but our first look at action scenes like Raphael’s encounter with Shredder and a mountain chase are tantalizing enough on their own to get a pass from me.
The heroes in a half-shell are coming back to the big screen August 8.
