NFL Football Is About To Get Less Boring Thanks To A New Rule

The extra point. Everybody has seen it. Nobody really cares about it since they rarely miss. It’s one of the most unnecessary parts of the game.
The NFL isn’t completely doing away with it, but the league is at least making it less asinine. Starting next season, the extra point will be kicked from the 15-yard line instead of the two-yard line. This will make the attempt harder, but not by much. The defense will also be allowed to return a failed attempt for two points on their end.
The extra point ranks low on the totem pole versus issues like domestic violence and concussions. But it’s something.
