Those who’re scared about the fate of “real hip-hop” can rest easier knowing that J. Cole is big enough to make HBO. The Forest Hills Drive tour saw J. Cole accomplishing his dream of packing out Madison Square Garden and brought out droves of fans in every city.
HBO will air the performance from Fayetteville, N.C., Cole’s hometown. The special, which airs Jan. 9, will feature appearances from Drake and Jay Z. Of course, Jay Z’s On The Run tour Paris finale with Beyoncé was the last to air on the network.
It’s another win for Cole, who shutdown the Internet on Black Friday with Kendrick Lamar through the surprise freestyles.
