Jada Pinkett Smith Finally Responds To Chris Rock's Oscars Joke
Jada Pinkett Smith Finally Responds To Chris Rock’s Oscars Joke
After a week of wondering whether Jada Pinkett Smith or Will Smith would respond to Chris Rock‘s jabs during his Oscars monologue, Jada has finally broken her silence.
“Look, it comes with the territory. We gotta keep it moving. We got a lot of stuff we got to handle, a lot of stuff going on in our world right now. We gotta keep it moving,” Jada said to paparazzi while walking through LAX, seemingly taking it all in stride. The actress announced she and her husband would be boycotting the awards due to the Academy’s lack of diverse nominees and a perceived snub for Will’s role in Concussion.
During this year’s Academy Awards, host Chris Rock joked that Jada wouldn’t have been invited to the awards anyway and poked fun at Will Smith, saying, “It’s not fair that Will was this good and didn’t get nominated. You’re right. It’s also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for Wild Wild West!”
Now that the Smiths and Chris Rock appear to be on good terms, it’s time to get back to the larger issue at hand: fixing Hollywood’s diversity issue.
