Chris “Kid” Reid Disses Obama Nephew Over Flattop Haircut
In a classic case of the pot calling the kettle out of style, Chris “Kid” Martin of Kid-N-Play took some shots at “First Nephew” Avery Robinson, who was spotted sporting a hightop fade at his uncle’s Presidential Inauguration.
Reid, who popularized the style in the early 90s, told TMZ , “I think that flat-tops should not come back … It’s an old style that now looks stupid to me.” He also added that Avery needs “to get out of the time warp.”
Reid must not have gotten the memo that athletes and entertainers are bringing the style back. Knicks guard Iman Shumpert has been growing his for a while now as is Brandon Jennings.
In an interview with TheUrbanDaily.com Reid gave props to Larry Blackmon of Cameo and Grace Jones for being one originators of the style.
