It’s Beyonce’s world and we’re just spectators. Over her 16-year career the Grammy-Award winning singer and songwriter has racked up enough hits to keep our headphones ringing from one decade to the next, but everyone has their favorites. Here are the top 10 Beyonce songs we feel are the must-haves for any music fan.

10) Diva

Beyonce defined that Diva was much more than a high maintenance woman and instead was the female version of a hustler, a woman who is in control and able to provide for herself. She has countless times made herself the epitome of a role model, but she owns it on this track. Beyonce placed herself on top of the game and simply made it nearly impossible to challenge it.

9) “Upgrade U”

This might be another Jay-Z assisted track, but it is obvious they can’t help but make hit after hit together. This is exactly why they are the power couple they are. And it doesn’t hurt that baby sis Solange penned it.

8) Déjà vu:

Déjà vu became the summer anthem of 2006 as Beyonce got a little funky with some help from Rodney “Dark Child” Jerkins.

7) Best Thing I Never Had:

This was the first single off of Beyonce’s 4 album and the first sneak peek into another stage of her career. Three years after I am…Sasha Fierce were eager to hear where Bey was going. What they got was another confident, empowering ballad that women could rally around.

6) Me, Myself, and I:

For the third single on her “Dangerously in Love” album Beyonce decided to take her fans down an emotional path that was personal to her. She sang of an all too familiar circumstance of a significant other with philandering tendencies and the self confidence to overcome and move on. This song painted a real portrait of Beyonce that her fans needed to see.  She had owned her talents in this song that made those who underestimated her, make a double take of a voice that would take over the world.

5) Countdown:

The video for her single “Countdown” became infamous as it was the video she made while pregnant with her daughter Blue Ivy. The song was the third single released from the album and only further shaped the image Beyonce was taking in her career as a happy and loving wife and soon to be mom.

4) If I Were A Boy:

As we already know, Beyonce has solidified herself over and over again as an ever empowering role model for women. When the single “If I Were A Boy” hit the air waves, B put everything that women had been wanting to say for so long into a song. Ladies have always tried to have men see their side of the story on many levels and Beyonce shined a light on the idea of switching roles between men and women with this single.

3) Irreplaceable:

We all remember the beginning lyrics: “To the left, to the left” as Beyonce sang a track made to empower women who had been wronged by their man.  With a little help from Ne-yo, Beyonce sang to the hearts of wronged women and was every television and radio with this track from her B’Day album in 2006. There was a relatable aspect of the song that gained Beyonce her fourth number one single in the US and proved that she was truly irreplaceable.

2) Single Ladies:

As the anthem for single ladies everywhere, this single became the viral sensation of the world in 2008 and put Beyonce on the forefront for music award shows across the board. There is no denying the contagious rhythms of this track and the ability it had to make every lady put their hand up! Uh Oh!

1) Crazy In Love:

The first single off of her debut solo album Dangerously In Love, separated Beyonce and placed her into the beginning of her star-studded career. This single made an iconic impact not only in the genre but for the songstress as a whole. Crazy In Love featured Jay-Z her then boyfriend, now husband, in 2003 and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 list proving to the world that Beyonce could handle the music game all on her own.
