The music portion of the annual SXSW festival started with a bang Wednesday night. Jay-Z’s engineer and DJ Young Guru gave the crowd in Austin, Texas a special sneak peek of a remix to Kendrick Lamar’s “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe” featuring Blue Ivy’s dad.
“Up in the clouds me and my spouse rumors on the ground gettin too loud we turn them sh*ts down,” Jay spits. “Can’t hear my self think/Turbulence sh*t almost spilled my drink.” Watch and hear the full clip below. [props to TSS]
In other Jay-Z news, it has been officially announced that The Roc Boy will be an Executive Producer on the film “The Great Gatsby.” Mr. Carter collaborated with director Baz Luhrmann on the soundtrack to the 1920’s Jazz age film.
Jay-Z’s association with the film was first rumored back in April of 2012 when songs of his were played on set to motivate the cast. We guess it worked.
