5 Desserts To Bring To The Cookout
The unofficial kickoff to summer barbeques is just around the corner. Memorial Day is the holiday where people get together to hang out, catch up, eat, and make plans for the coming summer months. I’m a person who does all of this at the Memorial Day BBQ, but I like to grub on food the most; desserts especially. But there’s always a risk when it comes to bringing desserts to a cookout. What if nobody eats what you brought? That could be the most embarrassing thing ever (especially if you come to my family’s cookout!). So in trying to help get you prepared for the cookout season, here are five desserts that won’t have people judging you negatively.
1. Thaw & Serve Pies
How hard is it to thaw and serve something.
2. Ice Cream
Everybody likes ice cream, even people who are lactose intolerant. Tell them to bring some Pepto Bismol.
3. Cake
Although a homemade cake shows you deeply care about whomever’s shindig you’re attending, but if you burn up food like Left Eye did Andre Rison’s mansion in 1994, store bought will do just fine.
4. Ice Cream Bars/Sandwiches
You know every time you get that first ice cream sandwich of the summer, you fall into that Eddie Murphy comedy bit. *sings “I got some ice cream..”*
5. Cupcakes
Cupcakes are always welcome. Sometimes, they’re more welcomed than some of those crazy relatives we’d like to forget we have.
