Usher Calls Marriage “Irretrievably Broken!”
Court records confirm what unnamed sources have been telling such magazines as People and the NY Daily News: Usher and Tameka Raymond were separated for nearly a year before the R&B singer filed for divorce.
A divorce petition filed Friday in Atlanta’s Fulton County Superior Court and obtained by The Associated Press says the couple has lived separately since July, and that the marriage is “irretrievably broken.”
Urshmeka married in a glitzy ceremony in August 2007. They have two young sons: 1 1/2-year-old Usher Raymond V and 6-month-old Naviyd Ely Raymond, and Tameka, 38, has three children from a previous marriage.
The petition also says there is “no reasonable hope of reconciliation” between the two.
Usher is seeking joint custody of the children.
