Kanye West Announces He’s Executive Producing Rihanna’s Album
Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney are currently featured on the single ‘FourFiveSeconds’ from Rihanna’s upcoming album. West and Rihanna have previously collaborated, and will perform the new single at Sunday night’s GRAMMY Awards, but it appears listeners can look forward to more of their collective work.
‘I’m executive producing Rihanna’s album,’ West told Ryan Seacrest of E! while on the GRAMMY red carpet. ‘I played her my album. And I said, ‘I got a few songs with Paul McCartney. She couldn’t get past the record. She had to have it on her album. So now we’re at the GRAMMYs doing it.’
West kicked off the 2015 edition of Beatlemania with his McCartney duet, ‘Only One’ on New Year’s Day. And his remarks to Seacrest seem to confirm rumors that his own solo set is on the way as well. There is currently no release date set for either Rihanna or Kanye West’s next album. Rihanna has not released a full studio album since 2012’s Unapologetic, which was certified as platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America on April 16, 2013.
