Today’s movie news might be thanks to last weekend’s box office success of San Andreas because Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is now in talks to star in the remake of the 1986 flick, Big Trouble in Little China.
Johnson sprung the idea on Fox, who owns the rights to the movie, according to The Wrap. If all goes according to The Rock’s plans, he’ll produce the film with his own company, Seven Bucks Productions. The movie would be written by the same folks who wrote the screenplay for X-Men: First Class.
Big Trouble in Little China follows Jack Burton (played by The Rock) who gets caught up in an ancient Chinese battle. The film originally starred Kurt Russell and Kim Catrall.
