The Mother Of D12 Rapper Proof Passes Away

Sherallene “Pepper” Holton-White, the Mother of Detroit rapper Proof, has passed away at the age of 64, according to reports on AllHipHop.
Known to most as Mama P, Mrs. Holton-White was a familiar figure in the City of Detroit, having owned several of her own social clubs as well as being the founding member of The Proof Foundation, a charitable organization set-up in memory of her son who was shot and killed in 2006.
Proof was a childhood friend of Eminem, as well as a member of the Detroit-based rap group D12. He appeared in the 2002 movie 8 Mile, although the character based on himself, Future, was played by Mekhi Phifer.
