T.I. Defends Beyonce Against Super Bowl Performance Criticism
It’s no secret that closeted racists around America are pissed at Beyonce for her empowering Super Bowl performance.
During the Super Bowl halftime show, Beyonce performed her new single “Formation” in a Michael Jackson-inspired costume. While Beysus paid homage to the greatest pop star of all time, her background dancers channeled the Black Panther Party, a social activist group founded in the late ’60s.
Since then, conservatives like former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani have spoken out against Beyonce, calling the performance an “attack” on cops.
The good folks at TMZ caught up with Atlanta rapper T.I. to get his perspective on the matter, and this is what he had to say:
“It’s an attack on cops that attack our people. How they gon’ protest against our protest? I don’t think that Beyoncé was being malicious in any way in her demonstration, and I feel that anything that is done to demonstrate against a pure demonstration is gon’ lose in the end.”
He wrapped up his response by adding a very valid point:
“Everything that we’re doing as far as the Black Lives Matter movement, it is to speak out and fight against unnecessary, unlawful death of our people, by people who are supposed to be put in a position of authority to protect and serve our people. So if you are against that, then to me, that is un-American.”
Boop! You tell ’em, T.I.
