Odell Beckham Jr. Praises Kobe Bryant For “Inspiring Him To Be A Legend”
As the days pass, the outpouring of respect for Kobe Bryant‘s storied career continues, and the latest is from New York Giant Odell Beckham Jr.
“I wish you the best with retirement. I know it’s going to be hard to leave the game,” said OBJ in a video posted to Bleacher Report’s Uninterrupted. “You’ve put your blood, sweat, and tears in this, for real. You truly inspired people, truly got a lot of people who don’t like you, but that’s a good thing – that means you did what you supposed to do.”
Beckham has a closer connection to Bryant than most, because Shaquille O’Neal is his godfather. The relationship began over 20 years ago when Odell Beckham Sr. and Shaq were roommates at LSU.
The wide receiver did admit that he flipped between the Lakers game and the Warriors‘ historic game, but was still in awe when he realized the Black Mamba put up 60 points.
“You really inspired me to be a legend, so thank you, Kobe,” Beckham said before signing off.
