Sanaa Lathan To Star In Upcoming FOX Drama ‘Shots Fired’
Sanaa Lathan is gearing up to star in FOX’s Shots Fired. The 10-hour drama series chronicles the life of a Black cop, played by Tristan (Mack) Wilds, who shoots an unarmed white college student in a racially split Southern town.
Lathan has expressed her excitement about the series on social media. “I CANNOT wait for you to see this one,” she said via Facebook yesterday (May 16). “#ShotsFired…Such an important story to tell. A mystery/thriller inspired by the racial tensions and polices shootings in our country, specifically the deaths of African American men and women at the hands of law enforcement and #theblacklivesmatter movement.”
Shots Fired was created by Love & Basketball writer Gina Prince-Bythewood and is set to premiere this fall. Watch the series trailer above.
