Rick Ross Honors Shawty Lo On ‘I’m Da Man’ (NEW MUSIC)
Shawty Lo‘s impact on southern rap culture was tremendous. So its to be expected that artists will continue paying homage to the fallen artist.
Following Beyoncé‘s tribute the late D4L rapper at her Atlanta Formation stop last week, Rick Ross shared a new track which borrows the instrumentals of Shawty Lo’s “I’m Da Man.”
“One time for real ni**as like Lo,” Ross chants in the intro. “Doing this one for you, my ni**a.” Then, following his verse, Rozay adds: “My ni**a died, bless his soul.” The track ends with Shawty’s original verse. Listen to the song below:
On Friday (Sept. 30), friends and family gathered for Lo’s funeral, which made a pit stop at one of Lo’s favorite strip clubs, The Blue Flame. A “Shawty Lo Tribute” event with the remaining members of D4L is now scheduled to take place Oct. 7 as part of A3C.
