After watching President Barack Obama meet with President-elect Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday, Oprah Winfrey says “hope is still alive.”
The media maven and philanthropist recently spoke to the Associated Press and reflected on the shocking results of the 2016 election.
“I could sense, maybe I’m wrong, but I could sense from Donald Trump’s body language even when he came out for the acceptance speech, that brotha has been humbled by this world thing,” she said. “I think it’s a humbling process that now you literally have the weight of the world on your shoulders.”
As Hollywood Reporter points out, Winfrey also stated that she doesn’t feel Trump’s election was a result of backlash toward Obama, but rather the votes of Trump’s supporters who felt unheard.
