New York Jets WR Braylon Edwards Arrested For DWI
New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards was arrested early this morning in Manhattan for DWI.
The police pulled Edwards over around 5:15am on the west side of the city because the windows on his vehicle were excessively tinted. The police officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol on Edwards and arrested him after Edwards blew a 0.16 on a Breathalyzer, or double New York state’s legal limit of 0.08
Jets General manager Mike Tannenbaum said in a statement released on the team’s website:
“We are very disappointed in Braylon’s actions this morning. The Player Protect program is in place for our organization to prevent this situation. Braylon is aware of this program and showed poor judgment.
“We are reviewing the information with the league and will impose the appropriate disciplinary measures.
The Jets defeated the New England Patriots, 28-14 on Sunday.
