DMX Pleads Guilty To Multiple Charges
DMX’s recent legal issues have culminated in a plea deal on drug possession, theft and animal cruelty charges.
According to the Associated Press, X pleaded guilty Tuesday (Dec. 30) to one count of animal cruelty, one count of theft and one count of felony possession of marijuana and a narcotic drug each.
A sentencing hearing for Jan. 30 has been set, during which additional charges will be dismissed.
Authorities allege that the troubled rapper provided a fake name and Social Security number while being treated at a Scottsdale hospital, the source of the felony charges of theft.
The misdemeanor animal cruelty cruelty charge and drug charges stemmed from an August 2007 raid conducted by Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies at DMX’s Cave Creek residence. The officers reported three dead dogs, guns, ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
