Celebrity Jailbirds [ORIGINAL]
Celebrity Jailbirds
In the last two years, Atlanta rapper T.I. hasn’t had the best of luck with the law. In 2009 he was sentenced to a year in prison for a weapon charge and in less than six months, returned on drug related charges. T.I.’s menace behavior seems to be interfering with his music career, but he isn’t the only one.
Mr. Clifford Harris, Jr. isn’t the only celeb with a rap sheet that has impacted his career; here are some other artists whose legal problems have trickled into their professional life.
TELL US: What celebs do you remember getting locked-up?
2Pac was no stranger to the Law and didn’t shy away from that in his music and interviews. In All Eyez on Me he said “Got the police bustin’ at me, but they can’t do nothing with a G.” He has a fearless attitude about jail time, the government and media.
Lil’ Kim was sentenced to a year and a day for conspiracy and perjury in March of 2005. She used her time in between her sentence and conviction to film Countdown to Lockdown, a reality TV show that chronicled her preparations for jail time.
Wesley Snipes was sentenced to 10 years in jail for federal tax convictions. He has been stated to owe between 14 and 42 million dollars in back taxes. He visited Larry King Live before being placed in jail, where he discussed projects he’d miss out on in the duration of his jail time.
50 Cent practically built his rap career from his illegal past including being shot nine times and surviving like Many Men from his debut album “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.”
