Uncle Luke Only Raises $250 At First Mayoral Campaign Fundraiser
Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell‘s bid for the job of Mayor of Miami-Dade County, FL is off to a shaky start. The former 2 Live Crew member held a fundraiser in the North Bay Village area of the city and only raised $250.
Campbell was hoping to raise between $5,000 and $10,000 at the fundraiser by charging $25 to $500 a head for the event.
“This is a $5 campaign where we don’t want special interest money,” said Campbell.
Campbell’s opponents in the mayoral race have raised considerably more. According to official financial contribution documents, Jose “Pepe” Cancio, the fourth highest fundraiser, has raised approximately $151,000 for his campaign.
