Ice Cube & Disney Partner Up For “Chrome & Paint”
Ice Cube and Disney have partnered up for Cube’s newest film project, Chrome & Paint. The film, named after one of Cube’s own songs, will center around car culture.
Cube is set to co-direct and co-produce the film with Mark Alvarez, his partner in Cube Vision productions. Cube will also co-write the film with Eva Vives, who wrote the 2002 drama Raising Victor Vargas.
The film was originally set to have a very dark and gritty tone, but with Disney on board, the story has been reworked. The film will be about a fatherless young teen who begins to rebuild a car that once belonged to his father. Ice Cube will be featured in the film as a friend of the teen’s father. In rebuilding the car together, the two begin to heal after their loss.
