Childish Gambino Colors Outside The Lines On "Camp" (@DonaldGlover)
Childish Gambino: “I Don’t Hate Backpackers”
Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, is releasing his fourth (!) album, Camp, on Glassnote Records today. The rapper/actor/comedian, who many know for his role as Troy on NBC’s “Community,” has been rapping for almost as long as he’s been in front of the camera, and it shows. On the reflective “Hold You Down” he spits, “The Black experience is Black and serious, because being Black, my experience is no one is hearing us.”
TheUrbandaily caught up with the multi-hyphenate before a recent show at Terminal 5 in NYC to discuss the racial and music industry politics he tackles on the project and how it relates to his upcoming comedy special, “Weirdo.”
