10 Things Willow Smith Can Learn From Other Celeb Kids
She’s only 9, but Willow Smith — daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith –already has a hit song, “Whip My Hair,” a deal through Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and a Justin Beiber-like buzz. But, can she avoid the pitfalls of being a celebrity kid? TheBVX uses the offspring of a few famous folks to teach young Willow some lessons.
The Celebrity Kid: Daniel “Diggy” Simmons
The Famous Parent: Run-DMC rapper Rev Run
The Lesson Willow Can Learn: Continue to surprise people by showing them how good you are.
Remember when JoJo Simmons tried launching a rap career? It didn’t work–mostly because he delivered exactly what people thought he would: A half-assed rap album that didn’t push any boundaries. His younger brother Diggy, on the other hand, is actually good–really good–on the M-I-C and he continues to prove it with every verse he drops. If Willow wants the world to take her music seriously, she needs to continue to do the same. Anyone (well, almost anyone–sorry, JoJo!) can make one hit record. But you need to show us what else you’ve got if you want to be a star.
