Bilal: I Wanted To Quit Making Music!
Bilal Oliver is one of music’s best kept secrets, and that’s rather unfair as he has a voice deserved to be heard by everyone.
He’s appeared on albums by Jay-Z, Solange, Common, Guru, and Erykah Badu to name but a few, in addition to releasing his own album, 1st Born Second at the beginning of the millenium.
In this interview with D-Nice, formerly of the legendary hip-hop crew Boogie Down Productions, Bilal talks about how the leak of his unreleased second album, A Love For Sale affected him, and also talks about his influences and his upcoming album, Airtight’s Revenge.
Listen to “Restart,” the first single from Bilal’s new album, Airtight’s Revenge, in stores September 14th.
