Rihanna Advised To Cancel Some Tour Dates Due To Poor Ticket Sales
Rihanna has reportedly been advised to cancel some of her upcoming tour dates due to poor ticket sales. Her manager and promoters have been forced to give some tickets away.
According to the New York Post, Rihanna’s manager Jay Brown has advised the Bajan pop starlet to cancel many of her US concert dates.
“It has been a big disappointment,” a source tells the Post. “The ticket sales in big US cities like Boston are so bad, they will barely cover basics like the lighting and other arena costs. Tour managers are begging local radio stations to do giveaways.”
Only 3,700 tickets have been sold for Rihanna’s upcoming July date in Boston. In order to break even, Rihanna needs to sell at least 15,000 seats.
Rihanna’s 2010 “Last Girl On Earth” tour suffered a similar fate, resulting in many canceled dates.
