Chris Rock Talks Early Days With Eddie Murphy
Chris Rock is the latest comedian to visit “The Cat Ranch” to talk to Marc Maron about his life in comedy on the podcast “WTF.” In a clip from the episode that will be released on Thursday, Rock talks about his early days doing stand-up in an environment when Eddie Murphy was in his prime as a stand-up.

“I’m at the Comic Strip one night and there were no Black comics on the bill and I was stacking up chairs after the second show so we could get stage time,” Rock says of his early twenties. “Murphy watched the 9th fake Seinfeld act and asked if there were any Black comics [in the house] and they put me on…”
