The Wire’s Lieutenant Wasn’t Jockin Jay-Z, Wants To Meet Obama
Actor Lancer Reddick, former star of HBO’s critically acclaimed series, The Wire, told USmagazine that while he’d love to meet President Barack Obama, he isn’t “holding his breath” for an invitation to the White House. The President has stated that The Wire was one of his favorite shows.
Reddick, who is now on Fox’s The Fringe, also made some other confessions about his cameo in Jay-Z and Beyonce’s video for “Bonnie & Clyde.”
“Well, Jay-Z and the director were big fans of The Wire. They requested me specifically,” he says. ” I didn’t know who he was at first. And when I told my daughter, she just rolled her eyes and said, ‘Oh dad!’ Then after I did the video, I see there’s a billboard in Times Square with Jay-Z, I see Beyonce on the cover of Vibe. [Laughs.] I was really out of touch!”
